Welcome to Lemon Drop Loft. This newly restored second floor 900 sqft circa 1850’s loft has a private entrance easily accessed from an outside staircase. It comfortably accommodates 4 guests with two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. A full bath has a shower only. The great room is tastefully decorated with sitting area, cable TV, Blu-Ray player, DVD’s, free Wi Fi, dining table and a full kitchen should you choose to prepare your own meals. The kitchen is highlighted with stainless steel appliances which include a range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. This well-appointed kitchen includes pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cutlery, glasses, mixing bowls, cookie sheets, toaster, 10-cup coffee maker, towels, dish soap and dishwasher soap. A sunroom is bright and cheery with a sitting area and desk. The laundry room located off the sunroom has a washer and dryer. Tide Pods are provided for washing needs. Free parking is available on our adjacent property as well as free street parking.
The Lemon Drop Loft is located in Tuolumne County in the heart of the historic California Mother Lode countryside. The region is home to a wide variety of natural and man-made wonders. Tuolumne County boasts quaint Gold Rush towns, wineries, wide-open countryside, and the high-country of the spectacular Sierra Nevada.
During your stay in Jamestown meander through town to see the many buildings dating from the mid 1880’s. Stop for a rest in Rocca Park where you can visit the newly constructed museum and the original Jamestown Jail. Musical events are performed in the newly refurbished gazebo on occasion. In May the Rod’s to Rails Car Show is well attended and a big hit. On the 4th of July a Block Party and Street Dance celebrate our nation’s birth.
A 10 minute walk from downtown will take you to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park. Railtown 1897 is where history comes to life with vintage steam trains, a working roundhouse, and the timeless Sierra Railway Shops which is a designated California Historical Landmark. It is also known as the “Movie Railroad.” Between 1919 and the present, the Sierra Railroad would “star” in more than 200 motion pictures, television programs and commercials including High Noon, Back to the Future III, Unforgiven, Rawhide and Death Valley Days.
Two other California State Parks are located nearby, Columbia State Historic Park and Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Yosemite National Park is a one hour drive to its north entrance, Big Oak Flat Entrance Station, via State Highway 120 through the community of Groveland. Several lakes in the area afford boating, fishing, swimming and picnic opportunities. Lake New Melones, Lake Don Pedro, Lake Tulloch, Pinecrest Lake, Beardsley Lake, Cherry Lake to name a few. Other locations worthy of a visit are Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, Bear Valley Ski Resort, Ironstone Vineyards, Kennedy Meadows and many more.
There are two casinos in the county, Chicken Ranch Casino, Jamestown and Black Oak Casino, Tuolumne City. Black Oak Casino recently opened an entertainment venue at the Westside Pavillion in Tuolumne City featuring popular entertainers such as Rick Springfield, Jeff Foxworthy and Smokey Robinson Jr.
